A communication barrier is anything that hampers the exchange and understanding of information, ideas and thoughts. People who have difficulty hearing, speaking, reading, writing and understanding experience communication barriers. Examples of communication barriers may include, a blind person is not able to access their medical record as it is not available in braille or accessible digital formats. an employee who is deaf is not able to participate in meeting as there is no sign-language interpretation available.
