According to the Mental healthcare Act 2017, State authority means the State Mental Health Authority established under section 45. (2) The words and expressions used and not defined in this Act but defined in the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 or the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970 and not inconsistent with this Act shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in those Acts.
