Persons who have 40% disability and more are given financial assistance of Rs.500 per month from the government of Chandigarh.Further, persons who have disability more than 80 % or multiple disability are given combination of both state as well as central government pension. The amount is INR 800 per month which includes state contribution INR 500 and central INR 300. |

Above 5 years of age, Minimum of 40 % disability, The applicant should be resident of Chandigarh for the last three years, monthly Income limit for getting state disability Pension is (a) Rs.1000 of the person concerned(b) If married, total income of both husband and wife should not exceed Rs.1500/- per month. (c) If not earning, then income of his/her parents, in case of one child should not exceed Rs.500/- p.m. and if two or more children, then Rs.3000/- p.m The eligibility for severe disabilities that is exceeding 80%: Age group of 18-79 years, BPL category, More than 80% of disability/severe multiple disabilities, Residents of the Chandigarh |

Procedure |
Apply to the Social Welfare Department of Chandigarh. Application form is available with the department. They will issue disability Pension card and number. Remittance of pension will be done quarterly through the Sampark centre created by the Social Welfare department. Applicant has to visit the centre to avail the cash payment. There is no need of having bank account as payment is done in cash. |
