Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme was introduced in Bihar during the year 2009-10 as a part of National Social Assistance Programme. The Scheme is being implemented through the funds received from Government of India. If applicant is receiving state social security pension, then he/she is ineligible to procure this pension. Under the scheme an amount of Rs.300 /- per month is paid to applicant. |

The eligible person should be in the age group of 20-79 years, Belonging to BPL families, Should have 80 % or more disability/multiple disabilities, Resident of the Bihar |

Procedure
|
To avail the benefits under the scheme, the eligible person has to submit two copies of duly filled application form along with documents to the concerned Block Development Officer (BDO). After scrutiny, the application is forwarded by the BDO to the Sub Divisional Officer for approval. Following the approval, the approval letter is dispatched to the Post Office, where a savings account is opened in the name of the beneficiary for making the payments. In case of rejection of application, the applicant is duly informed. |
