Alternative and augmentative communication devices (AAC)

augmented and alternative communication systems, also known as AAC systems, are designed to aid persons with disabilities communicate. They are diverse. They could be unaided or aided communication. Unaided AAC uses no equipment like sign-language, and Aided methods range from low-tech systems such as the use of paper and pencil, picture books, or alphabet boards; to hi-tech devices such as voice amplifying devices, speech to text and text to speech programs.
