Captioning provides complete description of sounds through an on-screen text. It not only captures an exact narrative of the dialogue, but also includes descriptions of other relevant sounds (such as a ringing doorbell, etc. Captions are either open or closed. Open captions are always in view and cannot be switched off, whereas closed captions can be switched on and off by the viewer. Most streaming services such as YouTube, Amazon Prime Videos, Net flicks, Hotstar and so on offer captioning for most, if not all, titles on their platform.
