Financial assistance to person with severe disability

Incentive

In order to promote economic self reliance among persons with severe disabilities, Goa provides a financial assistance  of ₹ 20,000. The grant is deposited jointly in the names of the director(by designation) and concerned beneficiary as a fixed deposits for a period of 10 years. The accrued interest on this amount is credited to beneficiary’s bank account every three months. After period of 10 years, beneficiary is allowed to use the amount of fixed deposit of ₹ 20,000.

Elligibility

Applicant must have completed at least 10 years of age and have 100% disability, resident of Goa by birth or by marriage or by continuous domicile of at least 15 years. Family annual income of the applicant from all sources should not exceed ₹ 1,20,000/-

Documents

Disability certificate, Resident proof, Family income certificate issued by the Panchayat secretary in respect of rural areas and the chief of municipality in respect of applicant from urban areas, Certificate from the respective Block development officer  that no other financial assistance is availed by the applicant, Birth certificate, Declaration form signed by applicant and attested by the BDO

Procedure

Applicant can apply to the directorate of social welfare through the respective Block development officer along with complete form and required documents.
