Programmatic barriers limit the effective delivery of a public health or healthcare program for people with different types of impairments. Examples of programmatic barriers include: 1. Inconvenient scheduling; 2. Lack of accessible equipment (such as mammography screening equipment); 3. Insufficient time set aside for medical examination and procedures; 4. Little or no communication with patients or participants; 5. Healthcare provider’s or hospitals attitudes, knowledge, and understanding of people with disabilities.
